Botox

Botox is a simple, nonsurgical treatment injected into muscles to improve the look of moderate to severe wrinkles, frown lines in adults from 18 to 65 years of age. It blocks the impulses of nerves from reaching the muscles, thereby preventing the muscles from contracting. Many facial wrinkles and creases are active lines caused by repeated muscle contractions, which can be blocked temporarily by BOTOX injections.

Botox is commonly used around the areas of the face including:

Crows Feet - extending out ward of the eyes
Vertical Frown Lines - between the eyebrows

After Botox injection into facial muscles there is a usual gradual disappearance of moderate to severe wrinkles. Botox has been used to treat neck muscles that tighten or spasm uncontrollably.

Dr. Zacco will examine prior to injections and outline an individualized treatment plan for you. Your treatment will be customized to your particular needs. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. You can expect to be in and out of the office without downtime. You may see a marked improvement within days. Botox treatment typically lasts for 4-6 months with the first injection, and increases in its duration with each subsequent injection, so long as the muscles do not regain their full strength before the next injection. It is still possible to smile, frown or look surprised after a Botox procedure-just without wrinkles and creases.
